Authoritative parenting is the best parenting styles, research says here is why?

It is rightly said that “children are like the mirrors reflecting the values and actions of their parents “.  Let’s discuss different styles of parenting and understand the consequences of each of them on the development of a child. There are four types of parenting permissive, Authoritative, Authoritarian, and uninvolved. The parenting styles evolve from the structure of the family system which is a whole lot a complex system that involves joint, nuclear, patriarchal, and matriarchal family. The cultures, values, and morals we follow vary from different families.  Bronfenbrenner’s ecological system talks about how different social and environmental factors affect directly or indirectly affect the relationship between the child and the parent.

Permissive parenting says that there are few rules, parents are accepting but they are not confronting their children about what they feel that child is doing wrong. Because of that child thinks they have been doing everything right. Authoritative parents keep the expectations of meeting the standards of the child and parents. They follow democratic and flexible rules. Because of which child feels the confidence to talk to their parents about every small thing, even though there will be high chances of transparency between them to build a healthy relationship in a family. Authoritarian parents are highly strict parents, they have high expectations and show less warmth to their children which increases the gap in generation and communication. Uninvolved parents are those who do not take an interest in what their children are doing in life because of this children started separating themselves from their parents and instead of being members of the family, they started identifying as individual identities which again becomes an interruption in communication.

Therefore, parenting styles need a lot of understanding from past history to family tree but in the end, the right parenting style will always affect the positive upbringing of the child. Positive affirmations from parents do play a role such as I am with you, we can discuss the problems together, you don’t need to lie things to me, I understand what you are going through, and it is my responsibility to take care of you, then discussing about their likes and dislikes, helping them in improving their life these are all qualities of authoritative parenting. Here, now is your turn to change your lifestyle and give your child parent–friendly environment.
